Publication

The institute maintains a dedicated publication scheme. This is mainly used to publish grey literature (project reports). The insitute also publishes an international journal, Archaeologia Islandica, on the archaeology and material culture of Iceland and other Nordic countries. The institute has published a list of all the work it has carried out since 1989. Initially, the lists were included within the international journal Archaeologia Islandica, though since 2002 an Annual General Report has been published that contains information about its projects and current research, as well as the institute's staff and other work. Recently the institute launched a new Monograph Series by publishing the results and findings of the excavations of the Viking settlement of Hofstaðir in Mývatnssveit.
